Professional Goalie Training

2019 GOALIE CAMP JULY 15-18

INSTRUCTORS:

Ryan Massa (Lead Instructor) -

Ryan brings over 20 years of playing experience in leagues that include: AAA, USHL, NCAA, AHL, ECHL. He played his NCAA hockey with the UNO reaching the Frozen Four in 2015. Massa most recently completed his pro career within the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and has since founded Elite Edge Athlete© out of Colorado.

Ryan Cole-

Ryan is a current youth hockey coach specializing in detailed mechanics of skating stride and body position. Ryan brings over 10 years of playing experience as a defenseman playing AAA, NAHL, and club with the University of Miami-Ohio Redhawks. Ryan is co-founder of Elite Edge Athlete© and provides skaters and goaltenders with detailed feedback to improve skating power and efficiency.

CAMP FOCUS:

This 4 day camp will consist of a progression based curriculum that works the goalie’s skills both on and off the ice.

  • On ice training:  Specialized instruction designed to improve a goalie’s vision efficiency, body positioning/movements, and skating.
  • Off-ice training:  Focused 2 days of Vision Training exercises & 2 days of specialized goalie specific strength workouts.

FORMAT:         BAXTER ARENA            Monday - Thursday 

SESSION I:      MITE/SQUIRT-  8:30a-11:00a  --60 mins on ice 

SESSION II:     PEEWEE/BANTAM/MIDGET/HS 12:00p-4:00p --2.5 hrs on ice

On Ice Instruction 

Specialized instruction designed to improve a goalie’s vision efficiency, body positioning/movements, and skating.

Off Ice Training

Strength, Flexibility & Agility Training

Strength sessions will be focused on primary muscle groups for a goalie (groins, glutes, abs, hips, quads,hamstrings). Goalies will learn how to create a daily stretching regimen and the benefits associated with consistent stretching.

Vision Training

Vision sessions will be comprised of various drills designed to improve the goalie’s ability to maintain visual attachment to the puck.
